Edmond 'Ed' Arthur Van Thomme was born January 2, 1924 to Frank and Mary (nee Van Pamel) Van Thomme in Detroit. He grew up in Fraser, the oldest of seven, working on the family farm. He met his wife of 62 years, Patricia, at a barn dance. They were married January 8, 1949 and a few years later purchased a farm on 24 Mile road, east of Romeo Plank. They first grew vegetables and later switched into the greenhouse business. He was one of the largest growers of perennial flowers in Michigan. They raised their four children on the farm. They sold the farm and moved to Washington Township.
He enjoyed hunting, his greatest feat was an elk he shot in Michigan. Along with hunting, Ed enjoyed bowling, casinos, and was an expert card player.
Ed was a founding member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ed is dearly missed by his loving wife Patricia; beloved children Charles (Connie), Marlene (Lynne) Zienert, Donald (Tina), and Corrine (John) Bultynck.

Also by his dearest grandchildren Dale and Carrie; Eric, Brenden, and Tristan; Tracy, Erin, and Allison; Justine, Todd, and Chad.
