Joseph Francis Murphy, age 58 of Macomb, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 22, 2014.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 3, 1956 to Marshall and Frances Murphy (Bligh), Joe graduated from Servite High School in 1975. He met and later fell in love with the former Ingrid Berg in 1979. The two traveled the world and had many wonderful times together. Joe was a very well known and loved bartender who was more than just "the guy behind the bar." He was a therapist, adviser, counselor and all around great friend to the many people he served over the years.

Joe enjoyed boating on Lake Saint Clair, watching NASCAR, riding motorcycles, traveling and was the number one Detroit Tigers' fan. He was a skilled basketball player who took pleasure in spending time with his very large family. At the end of a long day, Joe could be found simply relaxing at home with Ingrid and their "kids," their pet dogs Brutus and Tess.

Joe was an incredibly adventurous, loving, compassionate and humorous man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his wife, Ingrid; siblings, Mary (Gerry Salczynski) Murphy, Maureen (Dave) Semelsberger, Geri (Rich) Holt, Michael Murphy, Dan Murphy, Brigid (Matt) Lark, Jim Murphy, Pat Murphy, Colleen Murphy and many extended loved ones and dear friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
