Condolence & Memory Journal

I did not know Al personally but I know Gloria. Gloria, to you and your family, please accept my sincere condolences. From our conversations, it was apparent this was a difficult journey for all of you but you were brave and loving through it all. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Al's family at this sad time. He and I worked in the Financial Analysis & Accounting Department at Chrysler Motors Corporation in Center Line, Michigan, in the early to mid '60s. Al was always a class act, and one example was a day when I was handing out pay checks (no direct deposit back then) to everyone in the department. As I walked toward Al's desk, he turned to take his envelope, but I was looking to make sure I had the right one and didn't see that his bottom desk drawer was open. I tripped on the drawer and fell on top of him! Neither of us was hurt, except that I was terribly embarrassed. But Al, being the gentleman that he was, just calmly helped me up and said, "Carolyn, we have to stop meeting like this!" Just a little slice of Al's life from fifty years ago, but I think it sums up his gallant character and humor. Again, my sympathies to all whose lives were enriched by his love.

Uncle Al, you will be missed!! I absolutely loved speaking with you about how to invest in life. Your exhilaration when speaking of your daughters was fabulous. Saying how Gloria would keep you in "check" when wanting to golf more than you should or how she carried you through some hard times. Your legacy has been engraved in all the lives you have touched. Happy golfing in Heaven as your pain is all gone. Miss you......

Our sincere condolences to the Halkovich family. We knew Al at General Electric Company and later when I and Al worked at the Dodge Main office, I saw him once in a while. Although we haven't seen each other for a long time, we have some fond memories. Gene also knew Al outside of the GE office.
I was sorry to read that he had passed.

Gloria You have told me many stories of the great times Al and you had, you will have all those good memories to think of in the future. And you have been a wonderful companion and care giver to Al during his illness.
From our talks I always picture him in a comfortable chair and a book in his hand.
May you have peace and comfort in knowing you made his life better.

Your Friend
Lonnie
